Well! you are going to find something in a book. There are two easy ways:
1. If it is a wider / big topic then go for the "Table of Contents" or "Contents". Some books offer "Brief Contents" and "Detailed Contents". You can search both according to your needs.
2. If it is a "terminology" or a definition or a small part of information, you may go to two sections - "Index" and "Glossary". Both are available in most of the books and are arranged alphabetically. Index is a listing of important terminology or words used and Glossary is a list of important terminology and their definitions or brief information.
